JULY 2023

Business Tool of the Month

What’s the deal with starting professional relationships without written contracts? Well. I highly, highly do not recomme– in fact, just run away! Great news: Coaches & Company has spent the past 3 years perfecting their plug-and-play legal contract templates, so service-based entrepreneurs can start things off on the right foot.

Take 25% off the entire Coaches & Company contract shop through July 31 – just use code BDAYLOVE at checkout.

*Try any of their lawyer-drafted templates, with a 100% money-back guarantee.

Sustainable Content Marketing: LIVE – August 3

That “what do I post next” feeling when…you’re handling content creation by yourself…you haven’t been on top of your marketing calendar…and you feel like more customers/clients are somewhere out there, but now you’re a bit too stressed to find them. This 90-minute workshop is for you, if you’d like answers to your questions about creating content in the form of:

✍🏾 written word

🎧 audio

🎥 video

…so you can stay booked and grow your revenue!

Organic Content for Your 2023 Marketing Strategy

What happens if you make a good amount of sales, but you made those sales by spending an unreasonable amount of money on advertising? This means you have the revenue you wanted to see, but not necessarily the profit that allows your business to thrive. To keep acquiring new clients or customers at a reasonable cost, start focusing on organic (unpaid) marketing. [This is also where I criticize social media, even though I rely on social media. 😅]

Look in the Mirror (You’re a Media Company)

What would it look like to become a media company, in addition to the product or service that you already deliver? This is inevitable in 2023. While you started your business to solve a particular problem, you are now being asked to develop your skills as a content creator / media manager. Didn’t see that one coming, did ya?!

Why I Practice Yoga as an Online Entrepreneur

In order to increase my capacity to serve small business owners as they deliver their amazing products/services to their people…I must be willing to slow down.

Take a pause.

Say “no” to distractions.

Say “yes” to the extracurriculars that feed my soul.

Evaluate my personal needs – and the needs of KQ Writing Studio.

Not completely tense up when I’m stretched by the experience of entrepreneurship…because I know that the work will be balanced with plenty of rest and nourishment.

🧘🏾‍♀️ Yoga is one of those “yes” items for me.

There’s so much more to be said of this practice – from sacred roots to emotional work – but this is just a quick breakdown of why yoga works for someone who lives on the computer.

  1. 90% of my time is spent typing on the computer. Carpal tunnel is no friend of mind. Yoga reminds me to stretch out my tight wrists and fingers.
  2. Sitting at the computer can be rough on my neck and hips. Yoga helps me loosen my hip flexors and realign my posture.
  3. My work requires me to be mentally “on” 100% of the time. Yoga reconnects me with my body, without demanding complex thinking.
  4. As I’m learning how to grow my business, I sometimes unconsciously tense up my body as a response to the responsibility on my shoulders. Reconnecting with my breath during yoga sessions eases that tension.
  5. Being present and content in the now keeps me well-resourced, both creatively and energetically, as I support fellow business owners through my online services.

What’s one “yes item” you can reconnect with this weekend? Your body and soul deserve some downtime.
